Section 29-2-271: "The Permanent Joint Legislative Committee on Energy Policy is created for the purpose of developing the Alabama Energy Plan to recommend to the Governor and the Legislature courses of action to address the state's long-term and short-term energy challenges. The plan shall include, without limitation, recommendations relating to oil and gas production and future oil and gas development that are found both onshore and offshore in Alabama, as well as renewable and alternative energy sources."
