MGE has requested an increase in its annual electric rates of $17,870,000, which is 4.9 percent increase, and an increase in its annual natural gas rates of $2,450,000, which is a 1.2 percent increase. The electric and natural gas increases are being sought due to increased fuel and purchased power costs; costs related to the Elm Road Generating Station; an update of the American Transmission Company LLC Network Service Fee and Midwest Independent System Operator, Inc. Schedule 26; and increased costs in energy efficiency programs.
